Apollo Hospital and Fortis Healthcare have started administering Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V at two of their hospitals in Delhi NCR. According to a fortis Healthcare official, the hospital chain started providing Sputnik V vaccine at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram and Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Fortis Healthcare has earlier announced that it will start administering the 2 dose Russian Sputnik V vaccine at its Gurugram and Mohali facilities from June 19.
Sputnik v vaccine claimed to have an efficacy rate of over 90%. Moderna and Pfizer vaccines have an efficacy of over 90 %. The World Health Organization has not yet approved Sputnik V as an emergency vaccine.The two dose vaccine is now authorised in 67 countries. A single dose vaccine Sputnik Light is also expected to be approved in India soon.
Sputnik Vaccine Price in Delhi
The centre has fixed the price of the Sputnik vaccine at Rs.1,145 per dose. The maximum price of Covishield for private COVID Vaccination Centres has been fixed at Rs. 780 per dose, while that of Covaxin at Rs. 1,410 per dose.
