BSCC College List: The Bihar Student Credit Card scheme, initiated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on 2nd October 2016, aims to provide loans to students for higher education in Bihar. The Education Department, Planning and Development Department, and Labor Resources Department have released the list of colleges approved under this scheme. The government of Bihar has approved over 2700 colleges for the BSCC scheme, including 869 in Bihar, 225 in Delhi, and 121 in Uttar Pradesh.
This scheme allows eligible 12th class pass students from financially weak backgrounds to receive loans of up to ₹4 lakh for higher education. There is no interest for a moratorium period of one year post completion of the course or six months after employment (whichever is earlier), with a simple interest rate of 4% applicable thereafter. A preferential interest rate of only 1% is available for women, disabled, and transgender applicants.
