The congress party of Karnataka state has released congress candidate list Karnataka initial roster of 124 candidates for the upcoming state assembly election 2023. The tenure of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly is set to conclude by May 24, 2023. The scheduled of Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 will release soon and is expected to occur before May 2023. Despite the Election Commission not yet revealing the election dates, the congress party proceeded with the announcement of its party candidates list.
As per ANI's report, the congress party has declared the names of 124 candidates for the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023. The initial list includes the names of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and state party president DK Shivakumar. Congress candidate list Karnataka for assembly election 2023 is given below.

According to a press release by congress party, DK Shivakumar is set to contest from Kanakapura constituency, while Priyank Kharge will contest from Chitapur (SC) constituency. Meanwhile, amid speculation that Siddaramaiah would contest from Varuna, the congress high command has allotted him the same constituency. Siddaramaiah had previously stated that there was an opinion at home that he should contest from Varuna, and he had expressed this to the party's central leadership.
He also mentioned that there was talk at home of him contesting from another constituency, but he had not yet considered it. The possibility of Siddaramaiah contesting in another constituency will be known only after the release of details of all contesting candidates and their constituencies. Shiavanada Patil has been chosen as the congress candidate for Basavana Bagevadi. These details were disclosed in a press release issued by Mukul Wasnik, Congress General Secretary Incharge-CEC, on Saturday 25 March 2023.
