Types of Karnataka Ration Cards
In the state of Karnataka, 4 types of ration cards are issued to public under two broad categories, namely Priority House Hold (PHH) and Non-Pripority House Hold (NPHH). These cards are disbursed primarily based on the income levels of the concerned family.

A.1 | AY | Annapoorna Yojana ration cards are sanctioned to the poor senior citizens of the Karnataka state. 10 kilograms of food grains are disbursed to such cardholders per month at subsidized rates. |
A.2 | AAY | Antyodaya Anna Yojana ration cards are issued to the very poor families of the state, having annual income below Rs. 15000/-. Rice @ Rs. 3 per kg and Wheat @ Rs. 2 per kg is disbursed to such cardholders on monthly basis. |
B. | NPHH | Unlike the aforementioned categories, this category of Ration cardholders purchases the commodities from the ration shops at 100% economic cost. Such households have a steady income. |
Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka Ration Card
All the applicants must meet the basic eligibility criteria to get a new ration card in Karnataka.
- Applicants who are permanent resident of Karnataka can apply.
- Households not already having ration card in the state are eligible.
- Newly married couples can apply for new ration card.
- Citizens having temporary ration cards whose date has been expired are eligible.
