The government of Tamil Nadu has announced list of TASMAC closed in Tamil Nadu state on 22 June 2023. There are total 5,329 retail shops run by Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC) in Tamil Nadu, of these 500 retail liquor shops will be closed from 22 June 2023.
The Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced prohibition of alcohol will be implemented in phases. In first phase 500 liquor retail outlets has been closed and rest 4829 shops will be close. Soon Tamil Nadu state will be a dry state after closure of all retail shops. Home, Prohibition and Enforcement Department issued Order No. 140 dated 20.04.2023 to identify and close 500 liquor retail shops.
