NATO Countries List - North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was formed on the basis of North Atlantic Treaty signed on 4th April 1949. Currently there are 30 member countries of NATO including 27 European member countries, two North American countries and one Eurasian member country.
The NATO headquartered is in Brussels, Belgium and Allied Command Operations headquarter is near Mons, Belgium. Originally 12 members had signed the treaty of NATO in 1949. Under Article 10 of the North Atlantic Treaty Membership of NATO is open to all European States, to contribute to the security of North Atlantic Region. However, the NATO alliance has grown to 30 member countries with North Macedonia being the latest country to join in year 2020.
