PMMVY Beneficiary List: The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) was initiated by the Government of India in 2010, originally named the Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana, and was rebranded in 2017. The main objective of the PMMVY scheme is to offer maternity benefits of ₹6,000 to pregnant and lactating women aged 19 years or older for their first live birth.
This scheme provides partial wage compensation to women during childbirth and childcare, ensuring safe delivery, good nutrition, and feeding practices. Beneficiaries receive this assistance through grants to state governments, with ₹6,000 disbursed directly into their bank accounts across three installments: ₹1,000 for early pregnancy registration, ₹2,000 after six months of pregnancy, and the final ₹2,000 post child birth registration, along with an additional ₹1,000 under the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) for institutional delivery.
