Swachh Survekshan Ranking List: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has completed Swachh Survekshan 2022 survey. The results of Swachh Survekshan 7th edition and Swachh Survekshan ranking list 2022 has been announced by the president of India Droupadi Murmu on 2 October 2022 at Talkatora stadium, New Delhi India. For the consecutive 6th time Indore of Madhya Pradesh state has topped the Swachh Survekshan ranking list 2022. This edition of Swachh Survekshan is the world's largest survey on cleanliness by Swachh Bharat Mission. The main focus of the Swachh Survekshan (SS-2022) survey is welfare of sanitation workers. Swachh Survekshan ranking list 2022 was released on cleanliness parameters.

The first Swachh Survekshan survey was conducted in 2016 covered only 73 cities and Mysuru was the cleanest city in 2016. Now from year 2016 it is conducted every year in more than 4355 cities of the country. The Swachh Survekshan is redesigned innovatively to ensure the process become more robust with focus on sustaining the behaviors change. The Swachh Bharat Survey is conducted across all cities and towns across the country.

Swachh Survekshan 2022 Overview

The main focus of Swachh Survekshan is to make cities garbage free and open defecation free. Swachh Survekshan is an annual survey of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns across India. It was launched as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which aimed to make India clean and free of open defecation by 2nd October 2022.

Indore is the cleanest city of India for the consecutive 6th time and it is the first 7 star garbage free city of country. Madhya Pradesh is the cleanest state of India in greater than 100 Urban Local Bodies (>100 ULB) category and Tripura is the cleanest state in less than 100 Urban Local Bodies (<100 ULB) category.

Swachh Survekshan 2022 Ranking List

Madhya Pradesh Indore has topped the Swachh Survekshan 2022 ranking list and Gujarat's Surat is at second place in cleanest city of India in population category of more than 10 lakh. Navi Mumbai of Maharashtra state is at 3rd spot. The list of cleanest cities of India as per Swachh Survekshan 2022 ranking with garbage free city rating and score for cities with population more 10 lakh is given below.

Tirupati city of Andhra Pradesh state is the cleanest city in category of population 1L-10L. Mysore is at 2nd place and North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) New Delhi is at 3rd place in the list of cleanest cities in India. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched Swachh Survekshan 2023 (SS 2023). The theme of the survey is "Waste to Wealth", and the main objection of the survey will be waste management using 3R principle - Reduce, Recycle and Reuse.
