Tambaram Corporation Candidates: The AIADMK and DMK have announced the candidates for councilor positions for Tambaram Corporation. A tough competition is anticipated in all wards, particularly among Scheduled Caste (SC) women candidates, as one of them is expected to make history by becoming the first mayor of the corporation. Out of a total of 70 wards, six are reserved for SC women. It is noteworthy that the Mayor does not need to be elected from these reserved wards; an SC woman from any of the contested wards can be appointed as Mayor since SC candidates often contest in general wards too, across Tambaram, Pallavaram, and other surrounding localities. Below is the list of candidates for Tambaram Corporation.

The DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) won the Tambaram Corporation election in 2022 with a remarkable victory in 51 out of the 70 wards. Vasanthakumari Kamalakannan of the DMK has been appointed as the Mayor, with G. Kamaraj also from DMK taking on the role of Deputy Mayor.
