2026 Grahan List in India includes two solar eclipses (not visible) and two lunar eclipses (visible). While solar eclipses will not impact daily life in India, lunar eclipses will hold religious, astrological, and cultural importance, with Sutak being observed.

2026 Grahan List in India

In 2026, there will be four eclipses in total:

• 2 Solar Eclipses (Surya Grahan)
• 2 Lunar Eclipses (Chandra Grahan)

Solar Eclipse 2026 in India (Surya Grahan)

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking sunlight either partially or completely. Solar eclipses are of three types: Total, Partial, and Annular.

First Solar Eclipse (Surya Grahan) 2026

First Surya Grahan of 2026 will not be visible in India, so no Sutak rules will be followed here. However, this eclipse will be visible in Western Asia, South-West Europe, Australia, Africa, North & South America, and polar regions.

Second Solar Eclipse 2026

This will be an Annular Solar Eclipse, often called the “Ring of Fire” eclipse, where the Moon appears smaller and forms a bright ring around the Sun. Unfortunately, this eclipse will also not be visible in India. It will be seen in parts of America, South America, Argentina, and the Atlantic region.

Lunar Eclipse 2026 in India (Chandra Grahan)

A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, causing Earth’s shadow to fall on the Moon. Lunar eclipses are closely associated with emotional energy, mental balance, and spiritual practices.

First Lunar Eclipse (Chandra Grahan) 2026

This will be a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse, where the Moon passes through Earth’s faint outer shadow. Though subtle, it will be visible in India, and Sutak will be followed. It will also be visible in Europe, Australia, Africa, North & South America.

Second Lunar Eclipse (Chandra Grahan) 2026

This will be a Partial Lunar Eclipse, meaning only a portion of the Moon will be covered by Earth’s shadow. It will be partially visible in India, and Sutak will be followed in regions where it is seen.
