Dry day list is declared by central excise government of India. On these dry days the sale of alcohol and liquor in wine shops, clubs and bars is prohibited by government of India. The government has also declared an election day as dry day as all wine shops and bars remains closed on election day. on a specific day or date marked as Indian festival. Most of the India states observed dry day on major national festivals and occasions such as Republic Day (26 January), Independence Day (15 August) and Gandhi Jayanti (2 October).
