Kerala Chief Ministers List 2025: The Chief Minister of Kerala serves as the chief executive of the state of Kerala in India. According to the Constitution of India, while the governor acts as the de jure head, the real executive authority lies with the chief minister. The governor appoints the chief minister, who is accountable to the assembly through a council of ministers.
The first Kerala legislative assembly was established on 5th April 1957, consisting of 127 members, including one nominated member. E. M. S. Namboodiripad from the Communist Party of India was the first Chief Minister of Kerala. Below is the list of Kerala chief ministers along with their party affiliations from 1957 to 2025.
