PCMC Election Ward List: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) oversees the areas of Pimpri, Chinchwad, Nigdi, Akurdi, and the northwestern limits of Pune, India. Established on 11 October 1982, it manages an expanse of 181 square kilometers and serves a population of approximately 1.72 million residents. The Municipal Commissioner, an officer from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) appointed by the Government of Maharashtra, wields executive authority within the PCMC.
Industrial development in this region began in 1954 with the founding of Hindustan Antibiotics, the first pharmaceutical venture of the Indian Government. In a significant move towards unification, Annasaheb Magar laid the foundation stone of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Council on 4 March 1970, consolidating the industrial and residential sectors of Pimpri, Chinchwad, Akurdi, and Bhosari under one governing body.
