Central Government of India establishes All India Institutes of Medical Sciences AIIMS in India as a group of autonomous govt. public medical universities of higher education. The AIIMS in India colleges comes under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. These colleges are well known for offering Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) courses. As of April 2023 there are 24 AIIMS campuses in India out of which 19 are functional and rest are under construction. Till 2019 AIIMS MBBS admissions were through MBBS entrance exam conducted separately by institutes but it was scrapped in the year 2019. From academic year 2021-2022, any candidate can get admission in AIIMS through National Entrance Test (NEET). For Admissions in post-graduate courses at AIIMS, INI CET 2024 is a qualifying exam.

The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was established on 8 February 1956 under the Act of Parliament 1956. This act defines the objectives and functions of institutes and provide autonomous status to AIIMS in India. In the year 2013, Government of India had announced the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) initiative for correcting regional imbalances in the availability of affordable and reliable tertiary healthcare services. AIIMS MBBS Admission Procedure 2023
The candidate must have completed 10+2 with 60 % with physics, chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects from recognized Board. Candidate must have completed 17 years on crucial date as mentioned in form. For admission in MBBS candidate must appear for NEET-UG entrance examination and participate in counselling for final seat allotments.
