The West Bengal Nursing Council has released the updated list of government GNM nursing colleges along with their intake capacity for General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) training courses for the year 2025. Currently, there are a total of 234 GNM training institutes, comprising of 43 government GNM nursing colleges and 191 private GNM institutes across West Bengal. There are 2567 seats available for GNM nursing admissions 2025-26 in both government and private GNM colleges. Admissions to GNM nursing courses will be determined based on the merit list and scores obtained in the WBJEEB ANM & GNM examination conducted by the West Bengal Nursing Council.
The General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course, which spans over three years, is offered in various government, private, and self-financed institutions in West Bengal. To qualify for the GNM nursing course, candidates must have completed their 10+2 education with at least 40% marks. The admission procedure is based on the common entrance test conducted by WBJEEB; both female and male candidates are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria for GNM Nursing Course
The GNM nursing course is a 3-year training program available in both government and private colleges.
- The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Candidates must be a resident of West Bengal.
- Both male and female candidates can apply for the GNM course.
- The minimum age of the applicant should be 17 years as of December 31, 2025, with a maximum age limit of 35 years.
- A minimum of 40% marks in English in Class 10 is required.
- Candidates should have passed the 10th class examination with science subjects from WB Board or other recognized boards.
- Candidates (General/OBC) must have an aggregate of at least 40% marks in the 12th class board examination.
Documents Required for GNM Nursing Admission
- ID Proof: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, or Voter Card
- Recent passport-sized photographs
- Marksheet and passing certificate of High School (10th Class)
- Marksheet and passing certificate of intermediate examination (12th Class)
- Residence or Domicile certificate
- Category certificate for SC/ST/OBC and other categories (if applicable)
