Assam Cabinet Minister List 2025: The Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, has appointed 15 members to his cabinet. This council consists of 12 cabinet ministers from the BJP, 2 from the alliance partner AGP, and 1 from UPPL. There are two recent additions to the Assam cabinet: Shri Jayanta Malla Baruah, who serves as the Minister for Public Health Engineering, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship, and Tourism; and Smt. Nandita Gorlosa, who handles Power, Cooperation, Mines & Minerals, and Indigenous & Tribal Faith and Culture.
Now, the Assam Cabinet has a total of 16 ministers, including Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. The Chief Minister retains key portfolios such as Home, Personal Affairs, and PWD departments, among others not assigned to other ministers. Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the 15th Chief Minister of Assam on 10 May 2021. Additionally, 15 other MLAs also became cabinet ministers during the oath-taking ceremony, which was officiated by Governor Jagdish Mukhi.
