Karnataka New Ministers List: The Indian National Congress party emerged victorious in the Karnataka Assembly election, securing 135 seats, while the BJP could only manage 66 seats. Senior congress leader Siddaramaiah took the oath as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka on 20 May 2023 at Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, with the oath administered by Thawar Chand Gehlot, the Governor of Karnataka. D.K. Shivakumar was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister, and eight MLAs were appointed as cabinet ministers, including Priyank Kharge, son of Mallikarjun Kharge, along with prominent leaders like M.B. Patil and G. Parameshwara.
On 27 May 2023, at Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru, 24 MLAs of the Congress party took their oaths, bringing the total number of cabinet ministers to 34, which is the maximum allowed under law. Notably, Lakshmi Hebbalkar is the only woman in the cabinet, and N.S. Boseraju, who is not a member of the legislature, is also included.
