Leap Year List From 1900 to 3000 – How to Calculate Leap Year

The leap year list from 1900 to 3000 is provided below. A leap year, also known as an intercalary year, is a calendar year that includes an extra day to keep it in sync with the astronomical year or seasonal year. Since astronomical events and seasons do not align perfectly with whole numbers of days, calendars that have a fixed number of days will gradually drift over time with respect to the events that they are intended to track, such as the changing seasons.

The term "leap year" likely originates from the fact that a fixed date in the Gregorian calendar typically shifts one day of the week from one year to the next. However, during the 12 months following the leap day (from March 1 through February 28 of the subsequent year), the day of the week will advance by two days due to the inclusion of the extra day, effectively "leaping" over one day of the week.

How to Calculate Leap Year

Leap years occur every 4 years. They consist of 366 days instead of the regular 365 days. The additional day is added to February, resulting in a new date, 29th February, which appears once every 4 years.
