The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has recently published the NAAC ranking list for 2025. NAAC assigns letter grades from A++ to D and provides a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to higher education institutions based on their quality status. The evaluation considers aspects like curriculum, governance and leadership, teaching and learning processes, faculty performance, institutional values, research contributions, infrastructure quality, learning resources, and student support and progression.
NAAC, an autonomous body under the University Grants Commission (UGC), plays a pivotal role in accrediting higher education institutions in India. NAAC Grading System
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council classifies higher education institutions into three categories:
- University
- Autonomous College
- Affiliated/Constituent College
Institutions are assigned grades A, B, C, and D, which indicate Very Good, Good, Satisfactory, and Unsatisfactory performance respectively.
