New Sainik School List 2024 approved by Ministry of Defence

New Sainik School List: Ministry of Defense has approved setting up of 21 new Sainik Schools in partnership with NGOs / Private Schools / State Governments. These Schools will be set up in the initial round of the Government's initiative of the setting up of 100 new Sainik schools across the country in partnership mode. They will be distinct from the existing Sainik Schools.

The objectives behind Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision of setting up of 100 new Sainik Schools is to provide quality education to the students in tune with National Education Policy and give them better career opportunities, including joining the Armed Forces. It also gives an opportunity to the private sector to work hand-in-hand with the Government towards nation building by refining today's youth to become responsible citizens of tomorrow.

New Sainik School List

Sate/UT-wise list of 21 approved new Sainik Schools is annexed and can also be seen at sainikschool.ncog.gov.in 17 of these Schools are brownfield running schools and 4 are greenfield schools to be operational shortly. While NGOs/ Trusts/ Societies have share of 12 approved new schools, 6 private Schools and 3 State Government Sainik Schools which are purely residential in nature, 7 new Sainik Schools are Day Schools and 14 such new approved schools have residential arrangements. 100 New Sainik Schools approved by Sainik School Society

In 2022-2023 Budget, the provision to set up 100 new Sainik Schools under Sainik School Society was announced by the government of India. These new 100 Sainik schools will be set up in partnership with NGOs, private school sand state governments. These schools will be affiliated to Sainik School Society under Ministry of Defence. The main objective of setting up these 100 new Sainik Schools is to develop national spirit, invincible courage and unfailing commitment to values of country's respect and pride.

Benefits of this Scheme

• Fee support of 50% with upper limit ₹40,000 annually for half of the class (for class 6 to 12) or 50 students on the bases of merit per year will provided by Sainik School Society.
• The new approved Sainik School will also have option to allow day scholars with early morning to late evenings timings so that day scholars are able to partake in full day academic and extra-curricular activities of the school.
• Sainik School Society will also provide Teachers' Training to the teachers of new proposed Sainik Schools.
• As per One School One Sport by Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, all new proposed schools will be required to excel in any identified sports
• All NCC vacancies in JD/JW will be allotted based on the existing policy of Sainik School Society and Defence Ministry of India.

Eligibility Criteria List for New Sainik School

All the schools run by government departments, schools run by NGOs, Trust, Society, Private Schools fulfilling some requirements set up by Sainik School Society listed below.

• The School seeking approval as Sainik School should be affiliated with any recognized Board of Education.
• School should impart education in any of the languages supported by National Curriculum Framework.
• School should fulfill the land and infrastructure requirements for classrooms, library, laboratories and changing room.
• School should have Dinning Hall with in campus for breakfast, lunch, tea and refreshments.
• School should have infirmary.
• School should have NCC training.
• School will have to follow standard uniform and regimentation.
• Should should a transparent fee structure.
• Should shall follow One School One Sport and should have necessary infrastructure for sports.
• The school teachers should posses qualification criteria laid down by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE).
• Teachers training will also provided to teachers time to time by the Sainik School Society.
