The Below Poverty Line (BPL) list is created based on socio-economic criteria established by the state governments of India. Families with an annual income below ₹75,000 in urban areas and families with an annual income below ₹60,000 are included in the BPL household records maintained by the central government. Eligibility Criteria to Apply for BPL Family/BPL Card

To apply for a BPL card, the applicant's monthly income must not exceed ₹6,400 in rural areas and ₹11,850 in urban areas.

Urban areas: Families with an annual income of below ₹75,000

Rural areas: Families with an annual income of below ₹60,000

Land holding criteria include not exceeding 1.5 acres of irrigated wet land under major/medium irrigation sources, 2.5 acres of other irrigated wet land, 3 acres of dry land used for commercial crops, or 5 acres of dry land used for other crops.
