List of Congress Ruling States in India: The Indian National Congress is currently governing in three states: Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, and Karnataka. Additionally, Congress, along with its allies, is in power in three more states: Bihar, Jharkhand, and Tamil Nadu. The Congress party recently achieved significant victories, winning the Karnataka assembly elections on May 10, 2023, and the Telangana Legislative Assembly elections, securing 64 out of 119 seats.
Currently, the Congress party rules in six states while being in the opposition in eleven others, including Assam, Goa, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. In the 2019 general election, the Congress party secured only 52 seats, failing to meet the criteria for becoming the opposition party.
