- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- Minimum age for applying is 18 years; there is no upper age limit.
- Must be involved in one of the 18 traditional artisan activities on a self-employment basis.
- The applicant must not have availed loans under similar government schemes.
- Employees of state or central governments and their family members are not eligible.
- Only one member per family can apply.
- Annual family income should not exceed the limit set by the government.
