Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises has launched PM Vishwakarma Yojana for craftsmen, and artisans to provide them collateral free credit support of upto Rs 1 lakh in the first tranche and Rs 2 lakh in second tranche at reduced interest rate of 5%. The artisans will also be provided upto 8% subsidy under PM Vishwakarma scheme by MoMSME to support and empower artisans and craftsmen of country.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana will support artisans by providing funding, training and incentives to preserve Indian cultural heritage. The objective of PM Vishwakarma Yojana is to provide end -to-end support to the artisans and craftspeople for nurturing their skills which will help in improving their work quality. Under PM Vishwakarma Yojana 18 eligible trades will be included to get benefit of upto Rs 3 lakh loan.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2023

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched PM Vishwakarma Yojana to support small family business of traditional artists and craftspeople by provided them financial assistance, skill training, branding & promotion, E-commerce linkage, trade fairs advertising, publicity and other marketing services. The central government has allocated a budget of 15,000 crore to Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma scheme.

The main objective of PM Vishwakarma Yojana is to support handicrafts and traditional trades by skill training, loan assistance, incentives for digital transactions, incentives for purchase of equipment and providing support for marketing business. Under Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana credit support of upto Rs 1 lakh (18 month repayment) in 1st tranche and upto 2 lakh (30 months repayment) in 2nd tranche will be provided to eligible trades.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Eligibility Trades

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Eligibility List

  • The applicant must be citizen of India.
  • The minimum age for applying PM Vishwakarma scheme is 18 years at the date of registration and no upper age limit.
  • The applicant should be involved in one of the 18 family based traditional craftsmen, and artisan activities in unorganized sector on self employment basis.
  • The applicant should not have availed loans under similar credit based schemes by state or central government
  • Beneficiary of PMEGP, PM SVANidhi and Mudra scheme are not allowed to apply for this scheme.
  • The employees of state or central government and their family members are not eligible for the scheme.
  • Only one member of a family can apply for the benefits of this scheme.
  • The annual family income of applicant should not exceed a specific limit set by government for various categories.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Objective

  1. To enable the recognition of artisans and craftspeople by providing certificate and ID card to avail all the benefits under the Scheme.
  2. To provide skill training to develop their skills and make relevant and suitable training opportunities available to them.
  3. To provide toolkit incentive support for purchase of better and modern tools to enhance their capability, productivity, and quality of products.
  4. To provide the intended beneficiaries an easy access to collateral free credit and reduce the cost of credit by providing interest subvention.
  5. To provide incentives for online transaction to encourage for digital empowerment.
  6. To provide a platform for brand promotion, trade fairs advertising and E-commerce & market linkages to help them access new opportunities for their growth.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Benefits

The main benefit of PM Vishwakarma Yojana is credit support of upto 1 lakh in 1st tranche and upto 2 lakh in 2nd tranche - concessional interest rate of 5%. The main benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana is skill training loan assistance, incentives for digital transactions, incentives for purchase of equipment and support for marketing business.

  • Financial Support: The registered craftsmen, and artisans will be provided a collateral-free credit support of upto Rs 1 lakh in first tranche and upto Rs 2 lakh in second tranche with concessional interests of 5%. to expand their business.
  • Recognition of Artisan and Craft: PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card will be provided to registered candidates under this scheme which will given them recognition as artisan.
  • Enhance Skill Development and Empowerment: The government of India will provide training and skill development programmes for the empowerment of traditional craftsmen, and artisans. The cost of training and development will be covered by government of India.
    • Basic Training - 5 to 7 days (40 hours)
    • Advanced Training - 15 days (120 hours)
  • Employment Opportunities: The PM Vishwakarma Yojana will provide training and skill development programmes which will enhance employment opportunities among arcticians. The scheme has aimed at creating 15,000 job opportunities annually.
  • Incentives: The applicants will be provided incentives for skill training. A training stipend of ₹500 per day will be given to artisans and a sum of ₹15000 will be provided for the purchase of modern tools and equipment.
  • Preserving Cultural Heritage: This schemes aims at preserving our traditional cultural heritage by supporting traditional family based artisans and crafts people of India.
  • Digital Payment Facilitation: PM Vishwakarma Yojana is adopting digital payment method and promoting it by providing incentives to its registered user for using digital services. Rs 1 per online transaction will be provided for upto 100 transaction in a month.
  • Market Support: Quality certification, branding & promotion, E-commerce linkage, trade fairs advertising, publicity and other marketing services will be provided to beneficiaries of this scheme.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Online Registration

More than 2.5 lakh people has already applied for PM Vishwakarma yojana. The following step are taken in consideration for approval of application and to avail loan under PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

  1. Mobile and Aadhar Verification & Registration: First applicant must have done mobile authentication and Aadhar e-KYC.
  2. Artisan Registration Form: You need to apply for registration form.
  3. Download PM Vishwakarma Certificate: You have to download PM Vishwakarma Digital ID and certificate online from https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in website.
  4. Apply for Scheme Components: After online registration at https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in website by filling all require details and upload required documents for registration process, You can apply for different components of the Vishwakarma scheme
  5. Stage 1 Verification: The 1st step verification will be done at gram panchayat or ULB (Urban Local Bodies) level
  6. Stage 2 Verification: The 2nd step verification will be done by district implementation committee.
  7. Stage 3 Verification: The 3rd step verification will be done by screening committee.
  8. Final List of Beneficiary: After above three step, the applicant will be successfully registered for PM Vishwakarma Yojana. He/ She will be all benefits under the Vishwakarma scheme and can apply for loan of upto Rs 3 lakh.

How to Apply Online for PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2024

The step step by step procedure for applying online and registration process of PM Vishwakarma yojana is given below.

Step 1: First visit official website of Vishwakarma Yojana at https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in

Step 2: At the home page of official website click on "Apply" button. Now enter your mobile number and Aadhar card number to register. You will received OTP and login user ID at your mobile number.

Step 3: Login with username and password received at your registered number. After successful login fill PM Vishwakarma Yojana registration form with all required details like name, date of birth, address, occupation.

Step 4: After filling registration form with correct detail, click on submit button.

Step 5: After verification of your registration form at gram panchayat or ULB level by district implementation committee and screening committee, You will receive a successful registration message.

Step 6: After successful registration, you can download PM Vishwakarma Digital ID and Certificate.

Step 7: Finally you will be able to apply for various schemes, incentive & collateral- free loan under Vishwakarma Yojana.

Related Schemes for Artisan and Craftspeople

The artisan and craftspeople who have already registered or have availed benefits of USTTAD scheme, PMEGP scheme , PM SVANidhi and Mudra loan scheme are not eligible for PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
