Reserve Bank of India has published RBI unclaimed deposits list at UDGAM portal and details of account holders. Check below procedure to claim RBI unclaimed deposits and documents required to claim unclaimed deposits

The Reserve Bank of India has released RBI unclaimed deposits list for account holders whose amount lying unclaimed in bank accounts for more than 10 years. You can check your name in RBI unclaimed deposits list pdf released by bank concerned or at RBI centralized UDGAM portal for the public to search unclaimed deposits. The depositors or beneficiaries can get their deposits back by claiming their accounts at RBI UDGAM portal. The depositors or beneficiaries can also visit website of concerned bank in which they have account to locate unclaimed deposits of 10 years and more.

An unclaimed deposit is an account that is inactive and does not have any transaction or withdrawal of fund (other than interest credits and service charge debit) by depositor in last 10 years or more. The main reason of deposits lying unclaimed is the death of the accountholder or those who have not submitted nominee details or who have forgotten account details. The legal heirs of these inactive funds can fill "claim form" to claim deposits. The procedure and documents required for claiming these unclaimed deposits is given below in detail.

Public Sector banks (PSBs) has transferred total amount of ₹35,012 crore unclaimed deposits to RBI. These accounts were not operated for 10 years or more. State Bank of India has deposits worth ₹8086, Punjab National Bank ₹5,340 crore, Canara Bank ₹4558 crore and Bank of Baroda ₹3904 crores. The Reserve Bank of India has announced a "100 Days 100 Pays" campaign for banks to trace and settle unclaimed deposits from 1 June 2023.

If the account holders or heirs of account do not claim these unclaimed deposits then these funds will be transferred to Depositor Education and Awareness Fund (DEAF) of RBI. However the account holder/depositor or nominee still entitled to claim for unclaimed deposits at concerned bank branch.

How to Check RBI Unclaimed Deposits List 2023

To check if you have unclaimed deposits in a bank, first you need to check your name in RBI unclaimed deposits list at website of concerned bank or RBI centralized UDGAM portal. The account holder of unclaimed deposits needs to provide account details, documents and KYC to home branch of bank. The complete process for claiming of unclaimed deposit accounts is given below.

Step 1: First visit official website of Reserve Bank of India at https://www.rbi.org.in or concerned bank and then go to customer care section and then to inoperative accounts link.

Step 2: Now check name of account holder and address in list of unclaimed deposits by RBI. Enter your name, address and text verification captcha and click on submit button.

Step 3: Visit concerned bank home branch in which your have account and submit the "Claim Form" after filling all required field with your signature. You have to show passbook, deposit receipts, recent photographs and valid identity proof and all relevant original documents.

Step 4: The concerned home branch of your bank will directly process the application for payment of unclaimed deposit and pay the amount after due diligence and KYC compliance.

Step 5: If the account holder is deceased and there is no registered nominee (or registered nominee is also deceased), then you need to follow applicable succession laws and needs to provide documents claiming relationship with account holder. All you need is heirship certificate (for small amounts), succession certificate, letter of administration (for large amounts), testamentary document, no objection certificate from all family members.

The complete process to search RBI unclaimed deposits list at RBI UDGAM portal is given below.

Step 1: First visit UDGAM Portal by RBI at https://udgam.rbi.org.in. or direct link https://udgam.rbi.org.in/unclaimed-deposits/#/register

Step 2: At the home page of UDGAM portal first register your mobile number.

Step 3: Click on register button and enter mobile number, name, captcha and then click next button. Now enter OTP send at your mobile number and click on register button.

Step 4: Now login at Udgam portal with your registered mobile number and password.

Step 5: You can search RBI unclaimed deposits list by entering name of account holder and name of bank or directly by entering PAN card number or Voter ID or Driving Number or Passport Number and Date of Birth.

List of Documents Require to Claim RBI Unclaimed Deposits

All concerned banks has published details of "Unclaimed Deposits" on their website with some identifiable details like name of account holder, address and other details. The depositors or nominees / legal heirs of deceased depositor can identify and approach the bank concerned for claiming such deposits with all required documents mentioned below.
