UP Gram Panchayat Reservation List
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has introduced a rotational system for seat reservations. Under this plan, seats that were previously reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) will not necessarily be reserved for the same categories in the current year.
Uttar Pradesh has a total of 75 Zila Panchayat chairman posts, 826 Kshetra Panchayat posts, and 58,194 Gram Pradhan posts.
For the 75 Zila Panchayat chairperson positions, 16 seats have been reserved for SC candidates and 20 for OBC candidates, with specific reservations for women among these respective communities.
Out of the remaining 39 unreserved seats for Zila Panchayat chairpersons, 13 seats have been reserved for women, leaving 27 seats unreserved.
Regarding the 826 Kshetra Panchayat chief posts, 5 have been reserved for ST candidates, 171 for SC candidates, and 223 for OBC candidates. Further, there are specific reservations for women in these categories: 4 for ST women, 86 for SC women, and 97 for OBC women.
From the general category seats, 113 seats have been reserved for women, and there are 314 unreserved seats. Additionally, from the 58,194 posts of Gram Pradhans, 19,659 seats have been earmarked for women candidates.
