The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the 5th Positive Indigenisation List during the Naval Innovation Seminar at the Swavlamban 2.0 plenary session in New Delhi on 4 October 2023. This list, compiled by the Department of Military Affairs (DMA), aims to enhance self-reliance in the defence sector and promote exports under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
This latest list includes a total of 98 items that reflect the government's vision for Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) in defence. The items range from sophisticated systems to critical weapons and ammunition, all of which will be sourced from domestic manufacturers according to the Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP) 2020.
