IIT Colleges List in India:- The first Indian Institutes of Technology was founded in 1951 in Kharagpur. As on August, 2022 there are total 23 IITs all over the India. IITs are central government owned public technical institutes governed by Institutes of Technology Act,1961 which states their powers, duties and framework for governance and also declared them as institutes of national importance.
The administration of these institutes is controlled by IIT Council and each IIT is linked to others through this common council. The Education Minister is the ex-officio chairman of this council. As on 2022, there are 23 IITs with 16,234 seats for undergraduates programs. IIT Colleges List in India is given below.

The first Indian Institute of Technology was founded in Kharagpur in 1951 and established as IIT in same year 1951. Till 2001, there were only seven IITs in India, 8 new IITs were established in year 2008-2009. At present there are total 23 IITs all over the country.
