Uttarakhand District List: Uttarakhand, situated in the northern region of India, spans from 28°43' N to 31°27' N Latitude. This beautiful hill state was formed on 9 November 2000 after it was separated from Uttar Pradesh. Uttarakhand shares its borders with Himachal Pradesh in the north-west, Uttar Pradesh in the south, China (Tibet) to the north, and Nepal to the east.
Covering a geographical area of 53,483 sq. km, Uttarakhand constitutes about 1.6% of India's total land area. The capital of Uttarakhand is Gairsain during the summer months, while Dehradun serves as the winter capital. As of now, Uttarakhand has a population of approximately 10,086,292, with a literacy rate of 79.63%. Currently, the state is divided into 13 districts, consisting of 16,793 villages and 115 towns. The Government of Uttarakhand has announced a proposal to create 4 new districts, which are currently under process. The new districts are:
