UPSC Optional Subjects List: According to new UPSC exam pattern, the number of optional subjects for Civil Services Examination (IAS) to be chosen by the candidate for the main exam has decreased to one. UPSC IAS main exam general studies papers account for 1000 marks and the two optional papers account for 250 marks each. It is very important for an aspirant to consider various pros and cons before choosing an UPSC option subjects for mains exam.
Union Public Service Commission offers a total of 26 optional subjects, out of these subjects candidates can select subject. The list of UPSC optional subjects is given given below.
