The Concern Worldwide and Welt Hunger Hilfe, a non-government origination from Ireland and Germany has released Global Hunger Index list of 125 countries. The Global Hunger Report 2023 includes the list of countries based on four components undernourishment, child stunting, child wasting, and child morality. As per Global Hinger 2023 Report, 9 countries have alarming level of hunger and 35 countries have serious level of hunger.
India is at 111th position with a GHI score of 28.7 in Global Hunger Index list 2023 of 125 countries. Last year India was at 107th position out of 121 countries, In 2011 India was ranked 101 out of 116 countries and in 2020 India ranked at 94th place. India has more worse position than its neighboring countries like Pakistan is at 102, Sri Lanka at 60, Bangladesh at 81, Nepal at 69, Myanmar at 71. India is only above Afghanistan which is at 114 position. India is having highest child wasting rate 19.3 which is matter serious concern.
