What Happened During the Revision?

The SIR exercise created quite a stir. The draft list published on August 1 showed a big drop in the number of voters, with 65.63 lakh names deleted. Many opposition leaders alleged that the move targeted poor and minority voters. Between August 1 and September 1, lakhs of voters submitted requests for corrections, deletions, or new entries. Over 16.93 lakh people applied for inclusion, while 2.17 lakh applied for removal.The Election Commission clarified that the process was carried out according to the rules, and applications received till September 30 are being disposed of from October 1 onwards.

  • Click on Search in Electoral Roll
