World Most Polluted City List :- Recently World Air Quality monitoring organization the State of Global Air (SoGA) has released global air report 2022, which provides the level of air pollution worldwide and impact of air pollution on health, and also released a list of world's most polluted cities 2022. The objective of this report is to inform targeted efforts and list cities with higher pollution so they could take preventive measures to curb urban air pollution and improve public health.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has set an air Quality guidelines of less than 5 µg/m3. Above this level, Air pollution leads to some serious health problems like heart diseases, stroke, lung cancer, disability, early death from respiratory diseases, diabetes, and communicable diseases like pneumonia. The cause of air pollution in most polluted cities is commonly fossil fuel based energy generation, industrial activities and transportation and other sources of air pollution includes burning coal and wood for cooking and heating in households, waste burning, and dust from construction sites. World Most Polluted City List
The State of Global Air (SoGA) has collected Air Quality index data of more than 7000 cities all over the world and released a List of Top 20 Most Polluted cities in the world. Delhi is at the top of the World Most Polluted City List 2022 with cand Kolkata is the 2nd place, Kano city of Nigeria is 3rd. The Mumbai City of India is also in the list with 45.1 PM2.5 (µg/m3).
