New SEBC List of Odisha 2025

New SEBC List of Odisha: The Odisha State Commission for Backward Classes has updated the SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) list to include 22 new castes or communities on 04 May 2023, following the notification No. 8749/M&BCW issued by the government of Odisha. Currently, there is a reservation of 11.225% for the SEBC category in Odisha, which previously had 210 castes and communities. This amendment was made to the Odisha State Commission for Backward Classes Act 1993.

The castes newly included in the SEBC list are Ashtralohi, Ashtalohi, Karmakar, Viswa, Brahman (Sunari), Swaransilpi, Dhakhada, Gop, Sadgop, Dumal Gouda, Gopala, Gopapuria Gouda, Budho Kouriya, Kostha, Tulabhina, Bunakar/Bunakara, Matibansa Tanti, Rangini Hansi, Ranguni Tanti, Kosalya Goudus, Bosotheriya, Kuralar, Malis, Korchia Malis, Podda Malis, Monger, Pagadai, Patra, Aswini, Membram, Kubara, Sahoo, Kurmi, Kurma Chasa, Mahla, Mahlar, Kalinji, Koppula Vellama, Kalwar, Kalal, Banayat Odiya, Benayit Odia, Kalandi Baishanaba, Kalandi Vaishnab, and Kalanga.
