Haryana caste list 2026 is available on the official website of the Social Justice, Empowerment, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes and Antyodaya (SEWA) Department. The state maintains three separate lists. One is the Scheduled Caste list with 37 entries. The other two are Backward Classes Block 'A' with 72 entries and Block 'B' with 6 entries.
There is one change that many people still miss. Haryana government shifted Aheria, Aheri, Heri, Hari, Turi or Thori and Rai Sikh castes out of Backward Classes Block 'A' and added them to the Scheduled Caste list. So the older Block 'A' list that keeps floating around on WhatsApp and old blog posts is no longer correct. Serial number 1 of Block 'A' now starts with Naik, and serial number 50 is marked omitted.
Haryana SC and BC Caste List 2026
Backward class is a term used by the Government of India to group castes that are educationally or socially backward. Along with General category and Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes form the main official categories used for reservation in jobs, college admissions and state welfare schemes.
In Haryana, caste certificates for all these categories are issued online through the Antyodaya SARAL portal. SEWA Department handles the list, the certificate work and the welfare schemes at the state level. A person can apply for an SC certificate, a BC Block 'A' certificate or a BC Block 'B' certificate depending on the caste recorded in the family documents.
Haryana also runs a separate quota inside the Scheduled Caste quota for the most backward SC communities. These communities are called Deprived Scheduled Castes, and 36 communities fall in this group. Valmiki, Bazigar, Sansi, Deha, Dhanak and Sapera are some of them. The remaining SC communities such as Chamar, Jatav, Ravidasia and Mochi come under the Other Scheduled Castes group.

Haryana Backward Classes Block 'B' List
Block 'B' is the smaller list and has 6 castes. These castes are socially and educationally ahead of Block 'A' castes, so they get a smaller share of reservation in state jobs and admissions.

Castes Present in Both SC and BC Lists
Raigar, Mochi, Weaver (Jullaha) from the BC list and Julaha from the SC list, along with Badi castes, appear in both the Scheduled Caste and the Backward Classes lists. Members of these castes who are non-Hindu and non-Sikh do not qualify under the Scheduled Caste category, so they can apply for benefits under the Backward Classes category only. Caste certificate is issued as per the category mentioned in the family record, so check the entry carefully before applying.
How to Apply for Haryana Caste Certificate Online
SC, BC (A), BC (B) and Deprived Scheduled Caste certificates in Haryana are issued through the Antyodaya SARAL portal. The whole process is online and the certificate reaches the applicant after verification by the Tehsildar.
STEP 1 - Open the Antyodaya SARAL portal at saralharyana.gov.in and log in with your mobile number and Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID) details.
STEP 2 - Search for the caste certificate service in the list of services and select the exact category you need, such as SC, Deprived SC, BC Block 'A' or BC Block 'B'.
STEP 3 - Fill the applicant details, caste name as per the family record, address and other required information in the online form.
STEP 4 - Upload the scanned documents, which usually include Aadhaar card, Family ID, residence proof, photograph and the school or family record showing the caste entry.
STEP 5 - Submit the form and note down the application number. You can track the status on the same portal until the certificate is issued and download the signed copy once it is ready.
Haryana SC and BC Scholarship 2026-27
Students from the SC, Deprived SC, Vimukt Jati, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribe, Tapriwas, BC Block 'A' and BC Block 'B' categories can apply for Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chhatra Sanshodhit Yojana for the 2026-27 session. The notification came out on 7 August 2026 and online applications are open from 17 August 2026 to 30 November 2026. Family income should be within ₹4 lakh per year and the student must have the required marks in the previous class. The form is submitted on saralharyana.gov.in and full details are given on the SEWA Department website.

The department was earlier known as the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Department, and its old website haryanascbc.gov.in does not open now, so always use the new portal for any verification.
