Mudra Loan Bank List 2026 is out with the updated names of banks and lending institutions that give loans under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY). The scheme started on 8 April 2015 and gives collateral-free loans up to ₹20 lakh to non-corporate, non-farm micro and small enterprises. Loans worth ₹40.07 lakh crore have been given out across more than 57 crore accounts up to 27 March 2026, as per the official data shared on the 11th anniversary of the scheme.
Mudra loans are not given directly by MUDRA Ltd, which works as a refinance agency. Actual lending is done by Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) such as scheduled commercial banks, regional rural banks (RRBs), small finance banks, co-operative banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), and micro finance institutions (MFIs). Anyone running a small business can visit a bank from this list, or apply online, to get a loan under the Shishu, Kishor, Tarun, or Tarun Plus category.
Mudra Loan Bank List 2026 Under PMMY Scheme
Bank names in this list reflect the mergers that took place in recent years, so several old names are no longer separate banks. Allahabad Bank is now part of Indian Bank. Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank merged into Bank of Baroda. Corporation Bank and Andhra Bank are part of Union Bank of India. Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India merged into Punjab National Bank, while Syndicate Bank is now with Canara Bank. Mudra loan accounts held with these banks continue normally under the merged bank, and repayment terms stay the same.
Around 12 public sector banks, 18 private sector banks, 11 small finance banks, 43 regional rural banks, and 14 co-operative banks are on the MUDRA partner list, along with a large number of NBFCs and MFIs. This list keeps changing, because new institutions get added from time to time, so it is a good idea to confirm the latest names on the official MUDRA website before visiting a branch.

Mudra Loan Categories 2026
Once you pick a bank from the list above, you also need to pick the right loan category, because the amount you can borrow depends on the stage your business has reached. Tarun Plus is the newest addition, brought in through the Union Budget 2024-25, and it raised the maximum Mudra loan limit from ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh.
| Category | Loan Amount | Who Can Apply |
|---|---|---|
| Shishu | Up to ₹50,000 | First-time entrepreneurs and new micro businesses, even those with no credit history |
| Kishor | ₹50,001 to ₹5 lakh | Businesses that are already running and need working capital or a small expansion |
| Tarun | ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh | Growing micro enterprises that want to scale up or buy equipment |
| Tarun Plus | ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh | Borrowers who have repaid an earlier Tarun loan and have a stable business record |
Documents Required for Mudra Loan
Banks ask for a set of basic papers before they process a Mudra loan, and the exact list can differ slightly from bank to bank and from one category to another. Keeping these documents ready saves a second visit to the branch.
- Duly filled application form for the category you choose, since the Shishu form is different from the common Kishor and Tarun form.
- Identity proof such as Aadhaar card, voter ID card, passport, or driving license.
- Address proof like Aadhaar card, voter ID card, passport, telephone bill, or a bank statement that is not older than two months.
- Business proof such as a GST registration certificate, Udyam registration certificate, or trade license.
- Bank statement of the last six months from your existing bank account.
- Business plan or project report, which banks ask for in Kishor, Tarun, and Tarun Plus cases.
- Income tax returns of the last one or two years for Tarun and Tarun Plus loans.
- Proof of belonging to SC, ST, OBC, or minority category, if applicable.
- Two recent passport-size photographs of the applicant.
What Mudra Loan Can Be Used For
Money taken under PMMY has to go into a business activity that earns income, and banks check this while processing the file. These are the main uses allowed under the scheme.
- Business loans for vendors, traders, shopkeepers, and service activities such as food products, textiles, and personal services.
- Working capital through a MUDRA card, which works like a credit facility for daily business needs.
- Equipment finance for micro units that want to buy machinery, tools, or other fixed assets.
- Transport vehicle loans for commercial use, such as auto rickshaws, e-rickshaws, three wheelers, and small goods vehicles.
- Loans for non-farm allied activities like dairy, fishery, poultry, beekeeping, and food processing.
How to Apply for Mudra Loan Through the Bank List
STEP 1 - Look at the bank list given on this page and pick two or three institutions that have a branch near your business place. Co-operative banks and regional rural banks are usually the easiest to approach in small towns, while private banks and NBFCs may process the file faster in cities.
STEP 2 - Decide the loan category that fits your need. A new shopkeeper with a small stock requirement can go for Shishu, while a running unit that needs more working capital can choose Kishor or Tarun.
STEP 3 - Collect all the documents listed above, including your business plan, KYC papers, and bank statement, and carry the originals along with photocopies to the branch.
STEP 4 - Fill the application form for your category and submit it at the branch, or apply online through the official Udyami Mitra portal at udyamimitra.in, which lets you compare offers from different lenders before you finalize one. Mudra loans can also be applied for through the JanSamarth portal at jansamarth.in, which brings several credit linked government schemes on a single platform.
STEP 5 - Bank officials check your documents, business plan, and credit history, and then approve the loan amount based on your repayment capacity. Interest rates are not fixed by the government for PMMY; each lender decides the rate as per RBI guidelines and the risk profile of the borrower.
STEP 6 - After approval, sign the loan agreement and collect the funds. Repayment tenure ranges from three months to seven years, depending on the category and the lender, and no collateral or security is needed for any Mudra loan.
