The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the CBSE holiday list for 2025 and the academic calendar for 2024-25 for all schools affiliated with the board. Each March, CBSE publishes the academic calendar that includes a list of public holidays, summer vacation dates, half-yearly exam dates, winter holidays, and annual examination dates. Schools affiliated with the CBSE will be closed on public holidays and holidays proclaimed by respective state governments.
Founded on July 2, 1929, CBSE oversees more than 27,000 schools across India and 240 schools in various countries. The holiday list for 2025 is available on the CBSE's official website cbse.gov.in. During gazetted holidays declared by the Government of India, all CBSE head offices and affiliated schools will be closed. Additionally, the CBSE regional offices will observe holidays on Sundays and the second Saturday of each month.
