Haryana RTO Code List 2026 is updated here with every HR code, the office type and the city it belongs to. A vehicle registration number in Haryana starts with HR and then a two digit number, and that number points to the RTO office that registered the vehicle.
Haryana transport department runs these offices under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Work like driving licence, vehicle registration, permit and road tax collection is handled at the RTO level. There are around 97 RTO and licensing offices in the state now, spread across 22 districts and many sub divisions. New offices get added when vehicle numbers in a city grow fast, so one district can have three or four HR codes at the same time.

How to Find Your RTO Code in Haryana
Most people want to know their RTO code while buying a new vehicle, checking an RC or filling an insurance form. The code is printed on the number plate and also on the registration certificate, so you can find it in a minute if you know where to look.
STEP 1 - Look at the registration number plate of your vehicle. The first two letters HR confirm Haryana, and the two digits right after it are your RTO code.
STEP 2 - Match that two digit number with the table given above. HR 01 is Ambala North, HR 05 is Karnal, HR 26 is Gurugram and HR 31 is Jind.
STEP 3 - Open the official Parivahan website at parivahan.gov.in and select the Vehicle Related Services section to check RTO details linked to a vehicle number.
STEP 4 - Enter the vehicle registration number and the captcha, then submit. The screen shows the RTO name, owner name, registration date, insurance status and fitness details.
STEP 5 - If the code printed on your RC does not match the table, visit the local RTO office with your RC and insurance papers and ask for the correction.
